Eleanor Riches Hall

On February 6th, my beautiful Grandmother passed away. She was 90 years of age, and left the world with family who loved her so much, right at her side. One month before she passed, my Aunts and Uncle took her to the War Museum in Ottawa, and my Uncle took this photograph. It's stunning. It is the perfect example of when photographs speak words that our verbal vocabularies cannot. I wanted to share it...because it somehow captures so beautifully, yet so painfully, the end of my Grandmother's time with us.

yum

One of the coolest shoots I've ever been on was for a small Spanish cafe on the Danforth in Toronto. A completely new concept for me, I was asked to capture the food and atmosphere for a new menu and website. The owners were so sweet, the food was amazing (of course I was invited to stay for dinner and enjoy everything after.)  The coolest part of the day...for the first time ever I was working with an art director...and I was honoured. My art director was Roger Christian, Oscar winner for Art Direction for Star Wars. Amazing. (Nicest person ever...)

stumbling along in jersey

I have a new found love for walking and just shooting as I go.
The most unique shots happen. And I enjoy them, just because:)

shooting for hope

Last year, I had the incredible opportunity of shooting for a truly unique cause, the Hope House campaign: a project stemming from the award winning documentary Born Into Brothels, and the amazing work done by Kids With Cameras (www.kidswithcameras.org.)

The  event was an evening of information about the campaign, to create interest amongst potential contributors. It was held at a private home in Toronto named The Glass House, in the prestigious Bridle Path area. I wanted to share some of the most memorable parts of the evening.

Welcome!

As we begin this new year, I hope you'll share in my capturing adventures with me. When I am on a shoot, I always have such unique experiences, so it will be exciting for me to be able to communicate my experiences with friends and clients. I so enjoy the laid-back approach of a blog, and truly feel it is a great place for honest words and fun pictures. So...I hope you enjoy!

Before jumping into 2011, I thought I'd share my favourite parts of some 2010 shoots:)
