twinkletoes

I spent a day in Port Hope with the super fun students of the Twinkletoes Studio of Dance and Performing Arts in Ajax. Haylie, her husband Sheldon and adorable son Nathan, along with all of the parents, made for an amazing day. I was happy to tag along and capture some of the fun they've had this year:)

ottawa: chanelle style

I spent an afternoon walking the beautiful intricate parts of my favourite city with Chanelle and her sweet, vibrant young spirit. We had a blast shooting in ordinary areas and chatting along the way. Working together, I think we managed to create a cool little collection of photos. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do:) (...the dreamcatchers steal my heart...)

sweet spot

Whether you're braving a cold, gossiping with a friend, or handling a heartbreak...one thing can make any situation a slight bit better. A cupcake. I spent some time in the quaint-fresh-welcoming space of ThimbleCakes, a sweet new spot @ 369 Bank Street in the heart of Ottawa's Centretown. If you live in Ottawa...get yourself over there and allow yourself some time to relish. If you don't, make it a sure stop-in point on your next visit. They're oh too pretty to look at, and they taste even better. Trust me.

move.breath.fly

On Friday March 4th, I spent the day with the dance students in the Dance@O'Neill program in Oshawa. It was a wonderful day of improvised movement for the camera and Adele's new album '21', creating some amazing Visions that Dance. Just thought I would share a few from the day...

Eleanor Riches Hall

On February 6th, my beautiful Grandmother passed away. She was 90 years of age, and left the world with family who loved her so much, right at her side. One month before she passed, my Aunts and Uncle took her to the War Museum in Ottawa, and my Uncle took this photograph. It's stunning. It is the perfect example of when photographs speak words that our verbal vocabularies cannot. I wanted to share it...because it somehow captures so beautifully, yet so painfully, the end of my Grandmother's time with us.

yum

One of the coolest shoots I've ever been on was for a small Spanish cafe on the Danforth in Toronto. A completely new concept for me, I was asked to capture the food and atmosphere for a new menu and website. The owners were so sweet, the food was amazing (of course I was invited to stay for dinner and enjoy everything after.)  The coolest part of the day...for the first time ever I was working with an art director...and I was honoured. My art director was Roger Christian, Oscar winner for Art Direction for Star Wars. Amazing. (Nicest person ever...)
